Regina Schörg

Regina Schörg graduated with distinction from the Opera School of the Conservatory in her hometown of Vienna under KS Kmentt. Her early fixed engagements included positions at the Landestheater Linz and the Volksoper Wien. She achieved international acclaim with her performance as Eudoxie in La Juive at the Vienna State Opera under Simone Young's baton, earning her a Grammy Award.

Her extensive repertoire spans major Mozart roles such as Konstanze, Contessa, Fiordiligi, Vitellia, Elettra, Donna Anna, and Donna Elvira, as well as Belcanto and Verismo roles like Violetta, Lucia, Luisa Miller, and Musetta. As a native Viennese, she also excelled in operetta roles, portraying divas like Rosalinde, Hanna Glawari, and Mariza. These roles took her to renowned opera houses and festivals worldwide, including the Opéra de Bastille, Liceu in Barcelona, Opera Australia in Sydney and Melbourne, San Francisco Opera, Semperoper Dresden, Komische Oper Berlin, and the state operas of Berlin, Hamburg, Prague, and Cologne. She also performed at the Salzburg Festival, KlangBogen Wien, Wiener Festwochen, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Gulbenkian Hall in Lisbon, NHK Hall Tokyo, Vienna Konzerthaus, Musikverein, and philharmonic venues in Cologne, Stuttgart, Milan, Berlin, and Munich's Gasteig, among many others.

She worked with distinguished conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Kirill Petrenko, Simone Young, Riccardo Muti, Bertrand de Billy, Peter Schneider, and Zubin Mehta, as well as acclaimed directors like Harry Kupfer, Robert Carsen, Stefan Herheim, Günther Krämer, and Christine Mielitz. Renowned vocal coaches and mentors, including KS Patricia Wise, KS Renate Holm, KS Olivera Miljakovich, KS Arthur Korn, and KS Brigitte Eisenfeld, have significantly shaped her career.

In 2013, her transition to mezzo and character roles was marked by performances as Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro and Prince Orlofsky. Subsequent roles included Mirabella in The Gypsy Baron, Stasa in The Count of Luxembourg, and the Mother/Witch in Hänsel und Gretel. She also ventured into musicals, portraying characters such as the Stepmother in Cinderella, Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors, and Mrs. Kramer in One Touch of Venus at the Graz Opera in 2023.

In 2024, she performed as Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro and Adelaide in Der Vogelhändler at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz. In January 2025, she will appear as the Marquise de Villareal in Das Spitzentuch der Königin at the Theater an der Wien, and in April, she will reprise her role as Malvine in Johann Strauss Jr.'s Waldmeister at the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich, with a guest performance at Vienna's Museumsquartier.

In addition to her singing career, she has directed and produced several works, including Der Bettelstudent, Wiener Blut, Little Shop of Horrors, and Hänsel und Gretel. Her artistic achievements are further documented in seven complete operas on CD and DVD.
