Narek Hakhnazaryan

Narek Hakhnazaryan, a distinguished cellist, has achieved remarkable success since winning the Cello First Prize and Gold Medal at the XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2011. His talent, described as “dazzlingly brilliant” by The Strad and “nothing short of magnificent” by the San Francisco Chronicle, has led him to perform with leading orchestras and at prestigious festivals globally.

Hakhnazaryan's collaborations include performances with the Orchestre de Paris, London Symphony, London Philharmonic, and many other renowned orchestras, under the baton of celebrated conductors like Gergiev and Jurowski. His tours have taken him across continents, playing with the WDR Symphony in Spain, the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra in the U.S., and the Czech Philharmonic in Japan.

A passionate chamber musician, he has graced major music festivals like Verbier and Aspen and has performed in prominent venues across Europe, often alongside illustrious musicians such as Daniil Trifonov and Vadim Repin. His contributions to music were recognized in 2017 when he was titled "Honored Artist of Armenia" by then-President Serzh Sargsyan.

Mentored by the late Rostropovich, Hakhnazaryan's educational journey includes an Artist Diploma from the New England Conservatory of Music, under Lawrence Lesser, and prior studies at the Moscow Conservatory and the Sayat-Nova School of Music.

Currently, Hakhnazaryan is associated with "Larsen Strings" as an Artist, further signifying his stature in the world of classical music.
