István Horváth

The tenor István Horváth began his operatic career at the National Theatre of Pécs and is a regular guest with the Hungarian National Philharmonic.

In 2017, Horváth performed at the Bregenz Festival as Remendado in Kasper Holten's production of Carmen, conducted by Paolo Carignani, a role he reprised in the summer of 2018.

At the Hungarian State Opera, he regularly performs roles such as Ernesto (Don Pasquale), Count Almaviva (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), the Duke (Rigoletto), Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), and Matteo (Arabella).

Horváth has also debuted as Brighella (Ariadne auf Naxos) at the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen and performed Borsa (Rigoletto) at the Bregenz Festival in Philipp Stölzl's production.
