Marcello Fera

1966

Marcello Fera is active as a composer, performer, and conductor. Born in Genoa in 1966, he earned his violin diploma from the "N. Paganini" Conservatory there. At the age of twelve, he made his debut in the theater as a violinist and improviser. During his training, he gained experience in orchestral, chamber, and theatrical music, as well as in ensembles that extended beyond the classical repertoire. He also dedicated himself to Baroque music on original instruments.

In the early 1990s, he founded his own ensembles, situated in the realms of improvisation, song, and the classical repertoire. Since 1996, he has been increasingly active as a composer and conductor. His own works are regularly presented to audiences in concerts and festivals at the local, national, and international levels. He serves as the musical director of the Conductus Ensemble, which he founded in 1999, the artistic director of the Sonora concert season, and the responsible individual for the musical aspects of Kunst Meran.

As a composer, he receives commissions from various concert and theater institutions, ensembles, soloists, and private individuals.

Both as a performer and a composer, he has been recorded by RAI, Bavarian Broadcasting, ZDF, ORF, and Radio France, and his performances have been broadcasted on television and radio programs. His compositions have been released on CD by Bottega Discantica and Rai Trade - Ducale.
